Ronovan Writes Weekly Haiku Poetry Prompt # 353

Trying to make a left hand turn out of the Kroger parking lot Ron called a man driving slow an asshole. I said, “Don’t say that. He’s someone’s grandpa.”

“He’s not a grandpa.”
—–turning—–
“Okay. Well. I’m sorry.”

How swift to condemn
Branch out past your parking lot
Even for grandpa

No tree branch for us
We can nest in this chimney
Says the coal gray swift

And in the spirit of National Poetry Month, my husband even wrote a haiku:

Government, nature
Swift as some are, others not
Branches are like that
