Sometimes a bird flies through an open window and is difficult to persuade to leave. The bird and you flap around the room in confusion forgetting in your preoccupation that it would be better to settle down in sparse miracle.

Oh I know this feeling. Reminds me of the time a bat flew into my apartment on the 8th floor (Koriyama,Japan when I was teaching English.) Love “flapping kitchen confusion” . Awesome phrase. also “sparse miracle” resonates. Lovely phrase and i like the way it comes off the tongue
