NaPoWriMo Day 7

Twins

It was misunderstood, the poem
passed over, too long or unrhymed
maybe Old English
able to sing, though
poignant and pensive
missed the important P-
practical

Miss Under Stood
an only child, too tall or blonde
maybe an introvert
able to dance, though
passive and polite
missed the important P-
popular

One had words in pentameters and cantos
like braids down the page
One had hair, what did they call it?
like spun gold down her back
Both lay silent in the dark
on the cotton sheets from the
bankrupted department store
at the mall
