If I am having a hard day at work, Rory the falcon swoops in and takes me away. Somehow this bird is my alter ego, always adventurous, confident and not afraid of risk. I find myself reminding him to “stay in the atmosphere. I need to breathe.”
Yes, breathe. And with that, I inhale. Suddenly I am at my desk. The lights are humming, phones are ringing and copiers churning. Conference calls, sales reports and deadlines loom, but it’s okay. Rory is just down the hall if I need him.
I am ready to begin again.

Wonderful imagery! It’s great to have a friend like Rory who reminds us to take a good breath. If I still worked in an office, this would motivate me to make sure I had a picture of a bird on my bulletin board. (I probably did somewhere.)
